ALANUI presents ‘Greg Lauren x ALANUI‘, a collaboration between the Italian brand founded by Carlotta and Nicolò Oddi and the polyhedric Los Angeles based designer Greg Lauren.
With a relaxed attitude and a laid-back feeling, the collection combines the LA easy approach to life with the Italian craftsmanship and Milanese attention to the details. Each piece of the collaboration is effectively constructed ad-hoc, making it a unique style. The iconic ALANUI cardigans have been de-structured and re-assembled to create brand new items, in a vision brought to reality by Greg Lauren.
The luxurious ALANUI cashmeres are mixed with aged canvas and ripped denims, the precious jacquards and patterns play with the solid color of wrecked sweatshirts and track-trousers, different fabrics mix and match irreverently, in an unexpected patchwork of creative interpretations.
“I immediately felt a connection with Alanui… seeing the American Southwest influence through the eyes of an Italian designer, and made with such beautiful level of Italian craftsmanship. On its own, Alanui had found a way to bring a fresh version of an iconic style and spirit. I have a deep connection the aesthetic, and it was natural fit for my artisanal approach, deconstructing and reimagining the familiar in a new way, introducing new silhouettes, repurposed fabrics, to create a new vocabulary. In the end, I hope that the pieces capture the beauty and DNA of something one knows, but in a completely unexpected way. It falls somewhere in between the past and the future, and embodies elements of a new global community”, says Greg Lauren.

Seeing our key items as the Icon and New Icon cardigans and Baja hoodies being reinterpreted with a renovated vibe is very exciting. The “Greg Lauren x ALANUI” capsule collection consists of eight different unisex styles, ranging from coats and field jackets to hoodies and track pants.
The collection will be sold exclusively at Mr. Porter starting in November, and will launch globally with select retailers in December.
